DSE/PSL Archives — Technology for the Precise Revelation of Sound Information
A sound recording contains a certain amount of sound information.
During reproduction, this information may be revealed with different degrees of completeness and accuracy.
DSE/PSL Archives are created for the successive revelation of the sound information contained in a recording,
with an emphasis on the accuracy of its transmission and direct auditory perception.
This is not ordinary copying of a sound recording.
The work begins with the selection of the source material, followed by a successive process
of working with its sound information.
The final result is fixed onto the final medium — CD Audio.
The specific technical methodology of the process is not disclosed.
DSE/PSL Archive programmes are intended for the accurate presentation of sound information.
They may be used for professional listening, sound comparison and analysis, work with audio systems,
as well as for other tasks where the accuracy of reproduction is of fundamental importance.
For an audio system, the sound material used for its presentation is important.
The higher the requirements placed on the system, the more precisely defined the material must be
in order to make its capabilities and the differences between components and configurations audible.
For this reason, a DSE/PSL Archive programme can be used as
working material for the accurate presentation of an audio system.
The purpose of a DSE/PSL Archive programme is to reveal the sound information contained in
the original recording as accurately as possible and to fix the resulting outcome on CD Audio
